CANTERBURY ROWING CLUB.

The presentation of the prizes won by the membera of (he Canterbury Bowing Club daring the past Beaßon took place yesterday evening, at the Star and Garter Hotel. Mr F. Pavitt oocupied the chair, and Mr Knoi the vico-ohair. The prizes consisted of a most handsome collection of silver cups and epergnes, forming a very imposing display. The Chairman explained the object for which they had met together, and asked Mr Ollivier to call the roll of prize-winners. Mr Ollivier complied, and the prize-takers then stepped forward and received their respective awards, each being greeted by a hearty round of applause as the prizes were handed them by the Chairman. The following is a list of the winning orews : — CITJB PEIZBS. Maiden Fours. — Messrs De Castro, Wanßey, Anderson, and Wright. Senior Double Sculls. — Messrs Grierson and Hay. President's Cup —Messrs Grierson, Hay, Smith, and Jones. Maiden Pairs. — Messrs Hart and Day. Junior Pairs. — Meßsrs Hart and Wright. Junior Sculls. — Mr Dunsford. Swimming Bace. — Mr De Castro. IYTTBLTON BBGATTA. Double Sculls — Messrs Griorsan and Bpulton. i HEATHOOTB BEGATTA. Senior Pairs— Messrs Ollivier and Jones. Sweepstakes — Messrs Winter, Anderson, Edgar, and Smith. KAIAPOI BBGATTA. Junior Fours— Messrs Winter, Edgar, De Castro, and Smith. Prizes were also awarded to the oookswains Dunnage, Laurie, Bees, and Greensireet. A special presentation was make to Mr Kilgour, as a recognition of the trouble he had taken in coaching the junior fours of the Club on the occasion of the Kaiapoi regatta. Mr A. F. N. Blakiston congratulated the Club upon the very excellent selection of prizes they had obtained. Apologies were received for the non-attend-ance of Messrs Kesteven and A. Pavitt. The business of the evening having been disposed of, the company charged, their glasses, at the invitation of the Chairman, and the following toasts were given and duly honoured: — "The Queen;" "The Successful Competitors," coupled with the names of Messrs Grierson, Smith, and Jones; "The Donors of Prizes," coupled with the names of Mesars Blakißton, Harman, and Kilgour ; " The Coach for the Kaiapoi Begatta;" "The Captain," Mr L. Ollivier ; " The Chairman ;" "The Pilgrim Fathers of bhe Club," coupled with the name of Mr Moritz Bowron ; " The Prize-winners in the Interprovincial Bace," Messrs L. M. Ollivier, E. M. Bolt on, J. W. Davies, J. O. Jones, and J. Laurie (aox) ; " Our Absent Members ;" " The Vice-Chair-man;" "The Unsuccessful Competitors;" "The Custodian," Mr Bees; "The DeputyCaptain," Mr Evans ; " The Offioers of the Club," coupled . with the name of Mr Blaki«ton ; and other toasts.
