"»■ The promotera of tho Exhibition purposo getting up a special series of entertainments for the recreation of the members of the Legislature during their visit to Ohristchuroh. The New Zealand Blondin gave a performance on the tight-rope in tho afternoon, at 3 o'clock. The various feats performed were tho same aa those on the previous occasions. The somersaults on tho rope, tho blind-fold feats, balancing on the chair, managing tho cooking-stove, and eating his luncheon, were all performed by this young rival of tho Hero of Niagara with tho utmost sang froid. In the evening 3_r Morris repeated his feats on the tight-rope, the scene being illuminated by various coloured fires. This evening he will mako his last appearand 5 , and tako a benefit, when it is to bo hoped he will be favoured with a bumper house. After the conclusion of Mr Morris' performance last ovening, an entertainment of an instructive and artistic character was given in tho concert hall, whore Mr T. Crook Bhowed a number of dissolving views by moans of the oxyhydrogen light. Theso were of a very high order, aud were very well shown. Tho first set consisted of several photographic views of places and objects of interest in London, tho best of which were somo photographs of the Albert Memorial in Hyde Park. Paris was thon illustrated by a serio3 of excellont coloured photographs. The gema of this collection wero views of tho mouth of the Seine at Havre, and of the river winding through tho city. After a short interval, Mr Crook showed a miscellaneous assortment of pictures, including chromotropes and comic soones. A set illustrating tho " Diverting History of John Gilpin" was particularly noticeable. Tho views exhibited last night constitute only a portion of the largo collection possessed by Mv Crook, and it is probable that arrangements will bo made for a second exhibition in tho concert hall at an early dale. Tho promoters have decided to pormit skators to practise in tho Art Gallery ovory morning from 10 o'clock to noon, and overy afternoon from 3.30 to 4.45 o'clock. Moj-firs Joubert and Twopeny received the following telegram last night from Sir Maurice O'Borko, Speaker of tho Houso ol BeprescntntivOß : — " Have resolved to-night to adjourn from Thursday, Juno 29, to Tuos* day, July ■_, to onablo mombors to accopt your invitation to visit tho Exhibition, Members aro expected to arrivo at lyttel* ton on Friday, Juno 30, at 12 o'clock noon, by tho Hinomoa." Tho altondanco yestorday w.;a very good upwavdsof 3000 persons paying for admissioi during tho day und evoning.
