STANMORE ELECTION.
TO TIIE BDITOB OF THE STAB. Sir, — In your iaeuo of yesterday you state that lam a "Go-vcrn merit candidate." Permit mo to say that tho statement is grossly incorrect, and that my candidature is not in any way identified with tho Government or their party, who are not likoJy to injure their chances of success by running two candidates for tho same constituency. The grounds on which I ask the confidence and votes of tho electors, are tho advocacy and support of liberal principles, and of measures for tho benefit, of the masses of the people. As you give mo credit for honesty and intelligence, I trust you will allow mo the liberty claimed by candidates on whom you have bestowed tho most unqualified eulogiums, who will " neither boar iho brand of Sir George Grey nor tho mark of Mr Hall."— l am, &c, WILLIAM FLESHES. Aubury, 30th November, 1881.
