ROAD BOARDS.
AVON. This Board met on Monday last ; present — The Ohairman and all the members. — The reports of the Surveyor and Foreman of Works were read and considered. — Mr Dellow saw the Board, and represented that the pipes orossing Toon's road were not large enough to take the water. The (surveyor was instructed to inspect and report next meeting. — The Olerk waß instructed to inßert notices that aU rateß not paid within one month wiU be sued for, and the Collector will attend at Mr Free's store, Bingsland, on Wednesday's to receive rates. — The Clerk was instructed to write to Mr Johns, declining his offer of fencing. — Correspondence was read — From Mr Walton, re side-channels being blooked, and requesting that it might be boarded. The Clerk was instructed to inform him that instructions have been given to clear the channel, but the Board cannot see its way to do anything more at present. — From the Drainage Board, re levels of streetß. The Purveyor was instructed to conform to the suggestions contained therein. — From Mr W. J. Fisher, re drainage of land at Innes' road. The Surveyor was instructed to take levels and report next meeting. — From Mr Clark, re boU being taken from the road at tbe back of Mr Carl's. The Board decided that it had no jurisdiction.— From Mr Joynt. The Olerk was instructed to reply. — The Surveyor was instructed to inspect at Knightßtown, Hill's road and Edgeware road, as to water lying on land, and report ; also, as to cost of culvert at Sawyers' Arms road, timber, pipes and stone. — Accounts to the amount of £225 19s 2d were passed, and ordered to be ' paid, and the Board adjourned.
