Thubsday Sbpt. 22. (Before J. Ollivier, J. E. Parker.) Dbunkbnhess. -- A first offender was accused of being drunk and disorderly in Oolombo stroet on the evening of tho day previous. Tho offence was admitted, and a fine of 5s imposed, with ls cab hire. Labobnt fkom thb Pbeson. — Edward Brick was accused of stealing £2 3s from the porson of Thomas Brogden while he was w.th him in a cab on tho Buinner'road on tho previous day. In answer to tho question whether ho admittod tho charge or no, the prisoner said—" Well, I do in a kind of a way, but I did not steal it from him." Sergeant Mason said ho would ask for a remand in this case, as the police had not beon ablo to secure tho attondanco of essential witnesses. Tho Bench decided to remand tho accused to the foUowi ing day.
