DRAINAGE BOARD.
A special meeting of the Drainage Board, for the purpose of defining the boundaries of the suburban and rural districts for rating purposes was held to-day at noon. The following members were present : — Mr H. J. Tancred (Ohairman), Messrs W. White, Jan., J. E. Brown, O. Cuff and R. J. S. Harman.
The boundaries aB defined by the Committee, wero confirmed.
Mr Cuff moved— "That the Board notify their intention to make the following rates on tho undermentioned districts under the Board, viz. : — Chrißtchurch Dißtrict, lOd in the £ ; Suburbau District, lOd in the £ ; Rural District of Sydenham, 2d in the £ ; Rural District of Spreydon, 4d in the £ j Avon, 8d in the £ ; Heathcote, s£d in the £ ; and Riccarton, 2 id. Also, that the said rate shall be for the period commencing on the first day of January, 1881, and ending on the 31st day of December, 1881, and that the said rate shall be payable in one sum on the 15th day of" September, 1881, and that the rate-book is op.n for inspection at the office of the Board, Hereford street, Christchurch."
Mr Harman seconded the motion, which was agreed to unanimously.
This concluded tke business of the meeting.
