Mails oloso at the Chief Post Office for tho following places (subject to the necessary alterations) as under:— Wednesday, Doo. 8. For Otago and Australian Colonies (except New South Wales and Queensland), per Express, to .connect with the 8.8. Arawata at Bluff, at 7 a.m.; late fee letters iuay be posted in the travelling postoffice Tnn attached to the Express train. For Kaifcoura, par Tai. at 3.20 p.m. ; late fee letters at 3.30 p.m. ; guard's va«, 4.5 p.m. train. Thursday, Deo. S. For Akaroa and Otago, par Penguin, at 11.15 a.m. ; late fee letters at 11.30 a.m. ; guard's van, 12 Eoon train. For Fiji per Botorua (to connect with s.b. Southern Ctobs at Auckland), at 1.50 p.m.; late fee letters at 2.10 p.m. For Northern Ports, per Eotorua, at 1.50 p.m ; late fee letters at 2.10 p.m. ; guard's Tan, 2.40 p.m. train. Monday, Deo. 13. For the United Kingdom and Continent of Europe per Durham, for specially addressed correspondence only, as follows :— Ordinary letter at 11 a.m. ; books and newspapers at 11 a.m. money orders at 10 a.m. ; registered letters at 10 a.m. ; late fee letters at 11.20 a.m.j guard's Tan, 18 noon train, Wednesday, Deo. 15. For the United Kingdom, &c, via Brindisi (for specially addressed corresnondence only), Continent of Europe, Point de Galle, India, the East, Aden, Mauritius, Natal, Capo of Good Hope, Suez, the Mediterranean, ports, Australian Colonies, &0., per Express train to connect with e.s. Te Anau, at the Bluff, a3 follows:— Ordinary letters at 7 a.m., hooks and newspapers at 6 a.m. ; registered letters at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 14 ; money orders at 4 p.m. on Tuesday, Deo. 14 ; late fee letters may be posted in the travelling post office van, attached to the express train, on Wednesday, Dec. 15. The next mail for the United Kingdom, 4c, via San Francisco, will close at tho chief post-offloe on Saturday, Jan. I, IBSO. Notb.— On and after Saturday, Dec. 4, the Money Order and Savings Bank office will close each Saturday afternoon at two o'clock. The office will open again at half-past six o'clock to receive Saving Bank deposits only, and will remain, open till halfpost eight o'clock.
