A.O.F. — The ordinary fortnightly meeting •of Court Star of Canterbury was held on Monday evening at tho Fcrcstcra 1 Hall, at •which a fdr amount of routine business was transacted. A visiting brother from the "Wellington District attended and received a hearty welcome. Tho C.R. drew the menifcera' attention to tho entorlainmcnt advertised by Court, Thistle of the Format, Svdenham, to tulie place on Thursday next in St Saviour's schoolroom. Several new members -were initiutesl and a number of candidates proposed. Tho receipts of tho quarter amounted to £297 18s 10J. A.O.F.— Court Thistle of tho Forest held their usual moetirg on Tuesday evening, in St Saviour's schoolroom. After rending tho minutes, the Court udj-mrned for half an ! hour to receive tho Juvenilo F<rcßters, with their drum and fifo band, who with tho officers and members ot Court titar of Canterbury paid an official visit to Court Thistlo .of tho Forest. It was resolved that a hearty voto of thanks bo given to the Juveniles for their attendance. P. O.K. Bro Jacques, on behalf of tlm Court, addressed tho Juveniles, explaining the Lene/U-J to l>o derived from tecoming members oi' the Juvenile I: ranch ; also tho rapid growth of that 0 \iev in England and Color.ic3. Tho band Irnving jlayed a few gelectioca withdrew. Tho Court then resumed business, end received tho officers and members r f tho Court Star of -Canterbury. 'JLhc C.K. expressed tho great pleasure it gavo him to extend to tho visiting brethren the fraternal greetings of tho Court. The O.K. of Court Star of Canterbury replied in a fow well chosen remarks. Tho Entertainment, Committee reported that arrangements had been mado to hold an entcrtortaininent upon Oct. 28, for which a varied programme bad been prepared. Tho brethren having pas.-id a very } l-aaant evening, the •£<ourt closed in the usual fcrm.
