PERJURY.
Michael Murphy was charged, on tho information of George Hodgson, farmer, Cußt, tbat on Oct. 9, at Christchurch, he "did falsely, wickedly, wilfully, and corruptly commit wilful and corrupt perjury in tho testimony which he gavo upon oath as a witness at the trial of a certain indictment against one John Murphy, for forgery, at the Court of the Supreme Conrt of New Zealand then and tliere holden. James Watt was charged with a like offence Mr Stringer wai for the prosecution, aud Mr M'Connell for the defence. On tho caso being called on, Mr M'Connell eaid ho had arranged with Mr Stringer that the coses should stand adjourned until Tuesday, Oct. 26. Sergeant Morico stated that Mr Stringer had mentioned the matter to him. Tho cases were adjourned accordingly.
