CATHEDRAL GUILD.

The annual meetiug o£ the Cathedral Guild was held last evening in St. Michael's schoolroom. There was a very good attendance, and the chair waß occupied by the Very Rev the Dean. The Secretary, Mr T. F. Dodd, then read the eighth annual report, which stated that the amount raised by the Guild during the' past year waa £121 5s 9d, out of which £110 had been paid over to the Cathedral Commission. Since the formation of the Guild, it had raised altogether £1059 9a sd, and had paid to the Cathedral Commission £827, besides £45 9a 9d towards the cost of the western door. Four general meetings had been held during the year, and the thanks of the Guild were due to those ladies and gentlemen who had given their services for the instruction and entertainment of the members at those meetings. Good progress waa being made with the building of Ihe Cathedral. The sum of £210 afcill remained to be paid towards the cost of the rose window-. With regard to the altar, the Primate had brought the matter forward at a meeting of the Commission some months since, and it was resolved to send circulars to different members asking them to contribute towards the work. The report was unanimously adopted. The following officers were then chosen for the ensuing; year : — President, the Eight Eev the Primate j VicePresidents, the Very Ecv the Dean and the Hon H. B. Gresaon ; Secretary, Mr T. F. Dodd ; Treasurer, Mr A. Thompson ; Committee — The Rev Canon Colterill, the Revs J. W. Stack, E. G. Penny, C. Bowen, Messrs F. G. Stedman, J. Curnow, E. A. Worthy, K. Evans, J. S. Jameson, and Dr Ellis. The Very Rev the Dean briefly congratulated the Guild upon the work done since its formation. At tho conclusion of the business an entertainment was given, consisting of readings, recitations and songs from the works of Shakspeare, in which the various items were rendered by members of the Guild in a manner whi:h secured the hearty applause of those present. A vote of thanks was passed to the performers, especial mention being made of Dr Ellis, who had got up the entertainment, and the meeting was concluded by singing the National Anthem.
