SOCIETIES.
Oddfellows. — The annual meeting of the 1.0.0. F., Manchester Unity, was held yeßterday in the Oddfellows' Hall, Montreal street north. A report of the proceedings will be found elsewhere.
A. 0. F. — The second meeting of the members of Court Woodford, Kaiapoi, was held at the Farmers' Club-room, Cookson street, on Monday evening, when eight financial members and one honorary member were admitted, and five propositions for new members were received. The new Court now numbers about 38 members.
Concbet. — The Addington Pionee r Lodge, Wo. 9, 1.0. G.T., gave a concert in the Free Methodist sohoolroom, Selwyn street, on Monday evening last, in aid of the funds of the Lodge. There was a large attendance, and the chair was taken by Mr C. M. Gray, District Deputy. The programme, consisting of upwards of 20 items, was sufficiently diversified as to suit all tastes, and was evidently enjoyed by those present. The programme concluded with the National Anthem by the company.
Lytteltox Choeal Society. — The third concert is being arranged for by this Socioty to be given in the Colonists' Hall one day next week. Since the Society was re formed its progress has been most encouraging, but still there is room for more members, and the Committee of the Society, doubtlee9 believing that its ultimate succesa must depend to a great extent upon a numerous permanent membership roll, extends a very cordial invitation to all who are musically inclined, to join. In conjunction with some voluntary assistance, the Society have in preparation " The Meßsiah," the practices for which have been exceedingly well attended. At the rehearsal in the Church of England schoolroom on Monday night about fifty members weri' t resent.
