NEW SOUTH WALES.

Syjphby, Oct. 9,

A. deputation of delegates from the Free Selectors, at a Conference, presented the Minister of Lands with a manifesto vrhich the Conference had agreed upon as the basis of the new land law. 'Ihe Minister promised every consideration, although he stated that the manifesto, if carried into effect, would almost revolutionise the land policy of the Colony. Nearly the whole of the plant of the Kiama Milk Condensing Company ha 3 been erected. It is expected the establishment will be in full work at the beginning of November. A quantity of orders have already been received, especially from China and the East, where the supply of preserved milk is far below the demand.

The official report on the Bermagui diggings, states that the first line of claims is situated within 30 yards of the sea beach, and extends in a continuous chain for four miles. Sinking is somewhat impeded, as tbe land varies from five to 20 feet. About 30 claims have bottomed on payable gold, getting from three grains to some pennyweights per dish. The washdirt ranges from six inches to two feet. The gold is much water-worn. There is a population of about 800, and more are arriving by every steamer. At Temora a fine-looking reef has been broken, showing gold freely. Forty-two pounds' weight of gold have been taken out of Nugent and Adams' alluvial claim, and KeathiDg's party adjoining, got a nugget of 67ozs last Saturday.
