SOCIETIES.

1.0.G.T. — An entertainment vras given by the Sacred Stream Lodge, in the schoolroom, Tai Tapu, on Friday evening last. The chair was occupied by Bro. Barnett, of Leeston, District Deputy. An amusing and entertaining programme was goue through, and it was announced at the conclusion of the entertainment that eimilar meetings will bo held monthly.

The Dbuids. — The adjourned preliminary meeting for the purpose of opening a Lodge of the above Order in the Addington district, was held ab Feathers' Hotel, Addington, on Friday evening. P. A. Bro Willsteed occupied the chair. There was a largo attendance. The Secretary stated that he had twenty names on the roll, and that several others had promised to attend for the purpose of joining the Lodge. It was decided to advertise the next meeting in the evening papers. After some further business had been transacted, the meeting closed with a vote of thanks to the Chairman.
