A Californian was visiting at Boston once, and some flno cherries, rather oarly one*, were placed upon the table. The Bostonian plumed himself upon this, and said, " Thoee aro fine cherries." " Well," assented the Californian, " they are pretty tidy cherries, I must say." The othor said, " You have not got cherries like these in California ;" but for a time he could elicit no answer.
