KEW ZEALAND WATERLOO CUP MEETING. Second Day, June 16. Another glorious day, and the aporfc waa simply grand. At nine o'clock the first braceof doga were handed to the clipper, in a paddock of Mr Minchin'a, cloae by the houso. Fully a hundred horaemen wero preaent, and there must havo been an equal number of pedestrians during tho day, to witness the trials. Twenty-one couraea were run off, and aa dus-k waa rapidly approaching, the Stewards wisely decided not to commence tho second tiea of the Cup. Aftor leaving Mr Minshin'a j farm, they coursed over parfc of Mr Atkinson'B property and finiahed in one of tho Racecourae hill paddocka. Mr Wiae waa again successful in his decisions, and with one or fcwo exceptions Turner delivered hia charges well. The harea ran wonderfully atrong, and aa a rule the trials wero very heavy. FIBST BOUND (CONTINUED.) Balmoral and Billiard a were first in slijvs, and they were not kept waiting long before a go :d hare was roused up. The former showed in advance in the race up, bufc pu : a bending, placed Billiards, who acored first and Beeond turna, then drove through fence into a plantation, and from there into tl c ud joining field, Balmoral cutting up badly. Hinemoa and Verbena were sent away from a long slip, the former turning, and then all disappeared over a fenco ; when next aeen in the otber paddock, Verbena had a long lead, and scored three turns. Sho then placed H inemoa, who ran round her opponent continually, and when puaa oacaped at the far aido sbe had well won. Brigade allowed up in fronfc from a capital slip, but pusa bending f. voured Black Cloud, who secured first turn. Honeymoon led Chang for aome points till ahe appeared to tire, when Chang got placed and scored fairly, hut the bitch coming again showed best pace, and had well won when Chang brought hia teeth into play. Fairy led Chevy Chase, and a pretty give-and-take course followed, the verdict being for the dog, alfchoug l many of the onlookers differed from the judge's decision. Queen of the Seas sailed up three lengths in front of Banshee and acored two turns.thon gave way to the latter, who worked hor hare in protty style, and killing won a fair trial easily. A very long slip followed for Camellia and Belle. The former led up some lengths and scored two turna ; puss then broke to Belle, who made a turn, when the quarry escaped overa gorse fence, an unlucky courae for Belle. Miranda was many lengths in advance of Flirt when aho reached her game, and then acored nearly every point till Flirt throw up her head and refused to follow. Miranda pegged away, and after awhile her rival tried again, but tho bare after a pumper rfor Miranda got away. To Kooti beat Fly in a trial wliich waa mainly out of eight of fche spectatora. SECOND HOUND. Whilst the judge was diamounted, Turner, not knowing that to be the caae, slipped Don Carlos and Kip. Tho former was always in front, and tho judgo followed on foot till tho dogs, after a fair spin, got through a fence ; verdict for the Don. As aoon as slipped, Blue Bell and Pauline separated, each taking a hare ; the former gofc a regular grueller, but Pauline waaeaught beforo g-ing far. Wlien next they ran, the blue bitch showed fche effects of her exertions ki tho no course and suffered an easy defeat from Pauline, who killed very quickly. On the outside ! Rhododendron showed moat foot, and aa the hare bent, Le secured firafc turn, ABter Blipped in driving, and the white brought the hare round, when both started level. Thfl lattor then gofc in on sufferance, but Petrea. again got Jn for a few more {joints, whon Kathleen shot past and killed at a fence. Lancashire Lass was up two lengths in fronfc of R-3 flection, and scored two iurns, when fchey got into a road whero exchanges fallowed ; then into a atubblo paddock, where fche bluo went again to the front, and won & very locg courae in good style, finishing with a pretty kill. Skjddaw Lass und Jeannetto ran a long undecided, and when noxfc sont away the former at firafc showed most pace, bufc .hor opponent staying best won a long courso with a lot to sparo. Encoro hanging in slips j?avo Malice a good lead, by which aho eccurod fcho first two turns, but running wido Encoro went to tlu? front, and working in much better •tylo, tfaeily disposod of thoOlavcrhouso bitch. Hinemoa was always too many guns for Billiards, her working being vory closo. dog until Honeymoon pulled down the hare ' at the fence after a long course. With tho exception of a few points in the middle of the trial, Chevy Chase could make no show with Banjheo in a longiah trial, the bitch killing. Miranda had another grueller when running with Camellia, the latter being of very little service, and displaying more knowledge than required. Te Kooti ran a bye, and tho day's work finished.
