MELBOURNE, June 17. Payment of Members. The Payment of Members Bill was again under discussion in the Legislative Assembly last night. An amendment was proposed by Mr Murray Smith to exclude the payment to members of tbe Legislative Conncil, but it was defeated on a division by 48 votes to 28. No progress waß mado with tbe measure. Mr H. R. Williams, the member in charge of the Bill, threatened to abandon it unless the House dealt rapidly with it. Angry scenes occurred iv tbe Chamber last night in consequence of the impediments placed in the way of tbe Bill's passing. Selling Out. Messrs Money Wigram and Co. have decided to withdraw from the Australian trade, and are going to sell tbeir vessels. Sailed — Rotomahana for tbe Bluff.
