Willcox ; second, two-thirdit of the entrances and acceptances; thiid, .one-third of tho ontrances and acceptances. At tho end" of tho first lap the men passed in the following order : — Hill, Allison, Montgomery, Whiting, Brown and Hewett. Montgomery retired shortly afterwards. At the end of the second lap Whiting had taken Allison's place, and Brown, who was lying last, left the track. The order of the men left in at tho end of the third lap was as follows :— Hill, Whiting, Allison and Hewett. The last man then ran into third place, and with a pretty spurt also passed Whiting. Shortly after tho start J. S. Anderson forged into tho lead, followed by Hall, A. Andorson soon running out of the ruck. Thi3 order was maintained up cho straight. A. Anderson, whowas coming up strong, unfortunately slipped a few ynrds from home, and allowed Brown to drop into his place. J. S. Anderson landed an easy winner. Quaeteb Milk Hack ; open to Juvenile Members of Oddfellows, Forosters, and Druids. First prize, Messrs Stranga and Fountain's prize, value 355 ; second, 10s j third, ss. Entrance free. Competitors to produce certificate of membership ; to be run in regalia. J. Beattio 1 H. Lowry 2 F. Cooper 3 Sevon other boys started. Won easily. Time — 73 sees. After a protest lodged in. this raco had been heard, it was decided-to pay tho prizes on the winners producing their certificates. Quoit Match ; open to all comers. First prize, £3 ; second, £2. R. Hepburn 1 H.Hodge 2 Six others competed. 440 Yahds Eace. Open to Volunteers in full uniform, rifle and sido arms. First prize, cup, valued at £2 2s, presented by Mr 11. Thomson ; second prize, £1 Is. J. S. Andorson (Engineers) ... 1 A. Manning do ... 2 E. Eeeco (Artillery), and L. Tomlinson (0.G.) entered, but did not start. Manning started, merely to make a race, and kopt the lead on sufferance, until turning into the straight, when Anderson came away, and won without effort. 100 Yards Raoe. Open to Past Fresiding Officers of Oddfellows, Foresters, and Druids. First prize, cup, value 21s, pra- | eented by Mr Lozard ; second, 15s ; third, 63. D. M'Beth (Foresters) 1 A. Wilson (Oddfellows) 2 P. J. T. Smith do 3 E. Oppenheim (Druida), and rocker (Oddfellows) also started. This was an easy ra^e for M'Both, who won as he liked. 26- Committee EACH, 410 yds, handicap. First prize, £2 ; second, £1 ; third, 10s. C. Bowley (Oddfellows), 12yds 1 F. J. Simkin (Foresters) ... 2 8. Bath (Foresters) aho ran. Half way round Simkin passed Balh, and .led into the straight, where Bowley begau to overhaul, and evontually won a well-con-tested race, only on tho tape. Time— 6osec. Tuo of Wab, bctwoon 10 Foresters, 10 Oddfellows, and 10 Druids. Oddfellows Winners Tho draw resulted in Forestei'3 v. Druidi, winners', v. Oddfellows. ■ Both tugs wero capital, each lasting several minutes. Tho Foresters gained tho first victory, but had to succumb in the second pull , to tho Oddfellows, who had the vory groat advanlago of starting fresh. 100 Yahds Race— Open to pa^t oflicers of Oddfellow.- 1 , Foresters, and Druids over 50 years of ago. ThU was an easy victory for Mr Crook 3, who ran in with plenty to spare.
