Councillor Vincent said the minutes we_>e, in .substance, the Committee's report. Tho gist pf them was that the Committee wished to -know what amounts were to be raised .as loao.. Councillor Cherrill had expected that a report would have been submitted in tho tuoai tray. Still, it waa rery necessary that a clear ahould be como to aa to the to be raised on loan. The Water Supply Committee's work, he considered* _tas now completed, till the ratepayers hftd been called together in public ; meeting. Councillor Gapea took it that the Major and City oncers should now call a meeting of the rt}tepay<y:3. Councillor Cuff thought that the Water Supply. Committeo should prepare a statement for the ( -pubhc meeting. .The Mayor thought the Committee seemed inclined to shirk their responsibility. He would not shirk,any responsibility placed upon hia shoulder., but the matter waa too serious for one man to bring before the ratepayers.
