WELLINGTON, Oct. 10. Wellington Crime. At the Supremo Courfc this morning, Abraham Malintley, for housebreaking, was sentenced to six months' imprisonment. Cornelius Fißlier, for B.iccp-straling, was acquitted. The charge of riot and forcible entry of Natives on land afc Gisborno was postponed until Monday, owing to tho absence of counsel for tho defence. English Mails. The City of New York, with tho outward London mails of Sept. 11, left San Francisco on Sopt. 29, tho contract dato. The Zealandia, with tho homeward New Zealand mails of Sept. 16, arrived afc San Francisco on Oct. 8,. one day in advance of her time. Sudden Death. Captain lleffer, who for tho past two or throe years has been Superintendent of tho Lunatic Asylum, foil down dead ibis morning. The cause is supposed to bo heart disoase. Captain Heffor was formerly commander of the Maori, A New Rush. / ROSS, Oct. 11. / A rush is Betting in for Okarito. Sovoral persons have come from Canterbury for that Jmtination.
