The police had, on tho former meeting of the Benoh, drawn attention to tho faot that appli* cant had a front bar on his promises, contrary to the Public Houbo Ordinance. Inspector Hickson now reported that although notice had boon given to applicant to romovo the bar it was still in existence. Mr Thomas appeared for tho applicant, and argued that (hero was really no bar. The Chairman said it was nothing short of a bar, and applicant had been doing a bar trado. Tbo applicant said eat* ablcd were sold with the drink. The Chairman said it was a lioubo calling a bit of bread and cheese and biscuit refreshment. That was a perfect farce, and was not complying with tho Act. The Beech thought tho room for drinks should'bo right at the back of tho promise's.
