The T Harbour Board to-day resolved to appeal against the taxation of its reserves under the Land Tax Act on tho following grounds :— (a) That the foreshore reserves proposed to be taxed do not come within the definition " land " (see interpretation clause); (b) That the foreshore reserves aro "public reserved" and not endowments tor the general purposes of the Board, but public reserves set aside "for speci 6c purposes set forth in the Crown grant, tho Board only being appointed trustees to sea tho" trust" executed j (c) Tbat public resoi yes were exempted, oxcopt such as arc occupied by tenants.
