This Day. (Beforo His Worship fcho Mayor and F. Hobba, Eaq. Assaulting a Bailiff.— Chas F.Hawkins waa charged with aasaulfcing Thomas Georgo, a bailiff in fche execution of his duty, on March 31. Thomaa George deposed fchafc on fcho day named he waa put in poaaession of defendant's houae, when defendant used violent and threatening language to him, and threatened to split his head open. The offence was admitted, and defendant fined 40a, or ono woek'B impriaonmenl with hard labour.
Failing to Support his Family. — John Doig on a charge of this nature was remanded for 24 hours.
Riotous Behaviour.— George Smith was charged with behaving himself in a manner calculated to provoke a breach of the peace. V Fined 20a. * W
Vagrancy.— Timothy Sullivan alias Thos. Henley was charged with having no lawful visible means of support. The case was proved, and accused cent to gaol forgone week with hard labour. Drunk and Disorderly. — Two first offenders wero fined 5s each.
