THE S.S. HUIA.
The s.s. Hnia, Captain "Wills, late of the Tai, arrived from Kaikoura and Wellington on Saturday night. The Huia is a vessel of 106 tons register, built In Auckland, and owned by Bishop and Co., Wellington. She is intended to take the placo of the Tni in tho Foiton, Wellington, Kaikoura and Lyttelton trade. The Huia is very nicely ftirnishsd and fitted. Her saloon is ■ amidships, and is roomy, well ventilated, and nicely upholstered, and affords accommodation to twenty pansengers. The ladies' cabin is aft, and is a thoroughly comfortable and roomy one, with an abundanco of light and ventilation. This cabin is most comfortably fitted, every attention, having been paid to the wants of passengers. There is aUo a foro cabin fitted with eight bunks. The Huia has a 1 fine hold, and carries 120 torn of oargo, for the loading and discharging of which sho is fitted with a good steam winch. There is no doubt that passengers for Kaikoura and Wellington will hail '-'with deliKht tho change in the steamers for that trade, as the Huia will be found a very comfortable vessel. Her average speed is from nine and a halt - .to ten knots per hour, and she has the reputation of being a good sea boat. 1 She left Wellington at 4.80 p.m. on Friday, reached Kaikoura at 5.30 a.m. Saturday, sailed at ; 10, a.m., and arrived in harbour at 8 p.m. Tho Hula' sails on her return trip this evening, Messrs Caff and Graham, ore hor agents.
