Monday, Jan. 20. (Before C. Whitefoord, Esq., R.M.) Illegally on Premises. — William Vincent was charged with sleeping in an unoccupied house of Messrs Oram and Hansen's, in Raven sfcreefc, on Sunday lasfc. Dismissed wifch a caution. Horses and Cattle at Labge.— John Armitage and W. Burnip were each fined os for this offence.— J. Grimsley (first offence) was dismissed wifch a caution. — Like charges againsfc Josiah Maule and T. Fooks were adjourned for fourteen days, as the constable who laid tho information was too unwell to attend. Cart and Horse left Unattended. — Charles Wright was charged with this offence. The case was adjourned for fourteen days to allow of fche constable's evidence being taken. Afmixation. — Ar ther Bartram was charged by^Mary Greig with failing to support her illegitimate child, of which ho was the alleged father. Mr Thomas' appeared for the plaintiff, and Mr Nesk for the defence. After hearing the evidence of the plaintiff and her father, Mr Thomas put in a letter received by the plaintiff from the defendant

Judgment for amount claimed and costs. — W. Barnard v. J. Hurre, claim £1 12s Od : adjourned for 14 days. — Kaiapoi Borough Council v. H. N. Nalder, claim 6s, for rates ; same v. R. Wallace, claim £4 10s 6d, for rates j same v. Henry Kulley, claim £1, for rates j same v. T. E. East, claim £1. Some of the defendants appeared, and judgment was giv<m in every case for amount claimed and costs.
