• BOMBAY, Jan. 11. ' A powerful tribe of Mangals has assumed a threatening attitude, General Roberts has consequently decided to return to Kurum to concentrate his forces. The Sirdars of Cabul have written to Major Cavagnari in friendly terms. The latest advices state that Afzul Khan, commanding Afghans at Candahar, disbanded his army and left the province. General Donald Stuart was one day's march from Candahar on Jan. 8. Jan. 12. The Deputy- Governor of Candahar has tendered complete submission to the British, and now awaits the arrival of General Biddulplrs forces to surrender the city. Caudahar was formally entered on Jan. 9. The other leading officials and the troops fled to Herat. Jan. 13. General Donald Stuart and his forces marched through Candahar unopposed.
