[special] Jan. 2. Messrs Startfc and Palmerston, a lawyer and surveyor, drew Wellington in Tonk's sweep, on the Champion. They also drew First Lord oufc of twelve tickets. Wm. Monk, a Waipawa settler, has been committed for trial, on a charge of forging a receipt for £10, and also for perjury in connection therewith.
