There were several heavy showers during ' the night, but the strong south-east breeze that wbb blowing all the morning got the ground in fair condition. The attendance at 12 30 wbb only moderate. It waa a capital race, all jumping well until the fifth hurdle, when Blue Jacket fell without injury to horse or rider. St Albana got away, but comiDg up the straight, Tommy Dodd closed up all the distance, both plying whip and spur, but St Albans managed to win by a bare neck. Coming home Whalebone threw his rider, who seemed hurt.
