Tbe Englishmen won the toss, and went in. Some fine batting was displayed, especially by Obarlwood, Armitage, Ulyett, Selby, and Emmet. The innings closed for a total of 121 runs. The New South Wales bowling was good, but the fielding at times wae bad. The top-scorers are Emmet, 27 not out ; Oharlwood, 29.
