Tho Houso then wont into Committoo upon tho Rating Bill, and a numbor of clauses woro passod without material alteration. Tho Pbemikii aooopted Mr WhitaWs suggestion that travelling allowanoos to tfus^ tioes should bo dono away with, and Resident Magistrates should bo made Judges of Assess.
ment Courts, with powor to say where and when the Court should bo held.
The Bill thon forood itself slowly through Oimmittee as for as clause 86. Amendment aftor amendment had boen diaonssed, and about one o'olook tho Premier asked that progress be reportod. The Houao thon adjournod.
