It is roportod at Bombay that tho Ehedivo is unfriendly to tho now Sultan of Turkey.
On the ovoning of Juno 15, whilst tho Ministers were assembled in Oounoil at tho houso of Midat Pasha, the new Grand Vizior ( a reoontly dismissed offioor of tho Turkish Government, having onterod tho Oounoil Ohambor armed with a rovolvor, suddenly shot dead Hussein Pasha and Baeohid Pasha, the Ministers for War and Foreign Affairs. He also wounded Kaizooli, tho Minister of Marino, besides killing an Aide de Camp of the Grand Yissior, and a bor van tof Midat. Tho assassin was. arrested and hanged. Wellington, July 18. Tho Government havo received tho following oablo messages respooting Dr Foathorston's illness : — London, Juno 17. "Dr Featherston has folt it his duty to resign ofiloo, owing to serious illness. Sir William Powor, late Direotor-Gonoral of tho Wor office has, pro tern, boon appointed Agont-Goneral in his stead. Juno 19. Wo deoply regrot to announoe tho death of Dr Featherston.
