The offiolal declaration of the poll was made at noon, to-day, by Mr Gh L. Lee, Beturning Offloor. Mr Led said the whole of the number*
wore now in • he read them, as follows :—
Majority for Mr Fisher, 128. Tho Rbtubning Offiobb then deolared Mr James Temple Fisher duly eleoted as member in tho General Assembly- for the Heathoote Distriot. (Cheers.) ' Mr Fibhbb thanked the eleotors for the honour done him, and promised that his best efforts should be given to the work of representing the District. He now begged to pro* pose a vote of thanks to the Beturning Officer,
The motion was carried by acolamation, and tho proceedings terminated.
