Crioket. — A matoh will be played tomorrow on fcho U.0.0. ground between a sooond elovon of fcho 0.0.0, and fcho Papanui Olub. Wiokots will bo pitched at 1,45 p.m. The following is the 0.0.0. team:— Messrs Roedor, Taylor G. A., Board, Gray, Tayler, 0. FrsE.— About twenty minutes past four o'olook yostorday afternoon, the alarm of fire was sounded. It turned out that the western portion of tho Fire Brigade Station, in Market Plaoo, bccimo ignited by tbo oxplosion of a box of flroworks, Roman candles, &0., whioh had boon prepared for use in tho torchlight procession. Tho Brigade turned out wifch their usual promptitude, and tbo Extinguisher aad Dreadnought having boon quiokly brought into play, tho Ibmes wero extinguished after throo of fcho colls of fchafc portion of tbe building formerly used as the femalo gaol were partially destroyed. The way in wbioh the mombera of tbo Brigade worked, coupled with tho promptitude with whioh they answered tbo alarm, wero freely spoken of in terms of high commendation.
