[by telegbaph.] Dunedin, Nov. 12. Nineteen started oufc of the 26 acceptors for tho Cup. Horatio, Blue Peter, Papapa, Fugleman, Friendless, The Hook, and Menindie were scratched at the post. The betting on the course juat before the race was 100 fco 40 against G-oldsbrough, 4 to 1 against King of the Ring, 7 to 1 against Break o' Day and fche Diver, 12 to 1 against Tbe Arrow, 12 to 1 against Fitzyattendon, 10 to 1 against Lurline. The Arrow made the running for Goldsbrough for about three-quarters of a mite, when Haricot went ahead about four lengths ■ she was never caught, and won easily by about three lengths, Profcos second, The Diver third. Time, 3min 37secs. The race was a dead sell, Haricot not being mentioned in the betting. Haricot, Break o' Day, and Goldsbrough carried 51bs extra, and Fitzyattendon 31ba extra ; Lurline was lasfc bufc one. Maribyrnong Plate — Wilson's Maid of all "Work, 1 ; Branch's Richmond, 2 ; Bowman's Barbarian, 3. Twenty-two started. The Victorian Derby — Tait's Melbourne (AshWorfch), 1; Dr Bathe's Stockbridge, 2; Livingstone's Leanmeg, 3. Menindie, Polidon, Blink Bonnie, Presto, The Hook, Torchlight, Neredab, and Mute, also ran. Ifc was a splendid finish. Melbourne made a tremendous rush, and getting inside Stockbridge steadied himself for a moment, and shot to the front, winning a grand race by a neck : half fchafc distance separating fche second and third. Time, 2tnin. 46isec. Menindie started as favourite for fche Derby. Fop the Essendon. Stakes, seven started. There was a dead heat between The Diver and Hero for first place, Protos third. Time, 3 tnin. 44aec. Hero then walked over and the stakes were divided. Gloom was amongst the starters. Newbold won the Hotham Handicap, Woollomai, second ; Fugleman, third. Calumny nowhere.
