THE MAYOR'S SALARY.
TO THE EDITOE OP THE STAB. I Sib, — I am much obliged to you for publishing my letter, and the footnote thereto, in Saturday's paper. Will you now allow me to ask his Worship the Mayor, through you, how he reconciled the statement so frequently made by hira during the past week that the allowance for mayoral expenses, under resolution 23, oi Sept. 17, 1873, applied only to the present year ? I trust the Council will pass Councillor Raphael's motion, and steadily refuse any payment to the Mayor, or until the election of that officer rests wifch fche ratepayers. Your obedient servant, A RATEPAYER.
