LYTTELTON.
Thubsday, July 30. (Beforo W. Donald, Esq., R.M.) Refusal ov Duty. — Albert Edgar, a seaman on board the ship Ballochmylo, charged with this offence, waß sentenced to ono week's imprisonment. Civil Case 3. — D.and C.G.Robs v. Merson. This was a claim for £11, for preparing plans and specifications for a cottage at Lyttelton, being 2£ per cent on the coat of the building, which was £600. Mr H. N. Nalder appeared for tho plaintiffs. Judgement for the plaintiffs for £11, with costs 19s, and professional fee £1 Is.— Stringer v. Talbot and M'Clatchie. This was a claim of £12 17b 5d for drapery pilfered on board Talbot and M'Clatchie's lighter. Mr Nalder appeared for tho defendants. After evidence had beon heard both on sides, judgment was given for defendants, with costs £1 14s, and professional fee. Mr Stringer said he should applr for a fresh summons, in order that the caso might be thoroughly inquired into, as he considered it one of tho greatest importance to importers.
