The Chaibman said he thought that in such an important district as Addington, it would be a very advisable thing to establish a pablic library and reading room; and in order to participate in the vota passed by the Provincial Council, they would tze there was riot much time to be lost, as applications had to be Bent in to the Provincial Secretary before the 2nd of next month. The district was a thickly-populated one, and most of its residents were working men, who could not afford to have libraries of their own. The resolution was seconded and unanimously agreed to. The Bey F. G. Bbittan moved—" That the library be called ' The Addington Library.' " The motion was carried unanimously. It was resolved that application bo made to the right Bey the Primate for the use of St. .Mary's boys' schoolroom for the purposes of the library.
