HEATHCOTE ROAD BOARD.
The Board held a meeting yesterday, when there were present — Messrs Fisher, Garland, Enßor, and Dr Karle. Mr Fisher occupied the chair, and the minutes of the preceding meeting were read and confirmed. A letter was read from the Christchurch City Council, stating that the Council were willing to receive from the Board any suggestions it might wish to make for the improvement of the Ferry Road Drain. The Surveyor was directed to acknowledge the letter, and inform the Council that the Board had the matter under its consideration, and will communicate with the Council at an early date. A letter from Mr Reston, relative to stone heing quarried on the Sumner Road Reserve, adjacent to rural se tion 130, was read; the writer requesting that some arrangement should be made which would be satisfactory both to the Board and himself, as the land belongs to him. The >urveyor was instructed to inform Mr Reston that he must have made some mistake in this matter, as section 130 is not within the boundary of this district, and the Board has no knowledge of the persons referred to as quarrying Btone ou the above section The Surveyor laid before the Board a plan and sections showing the proposed diversion of the Ferry Road Drain, in accordance with the resolution passed at the last meeting, and which were approved by the Board, and Mr Fisher and Dr Karle were requested to wait upon the Government with a view to getting the work carried out at once. Tenders were opened for forming street in Avonville, when that of W, Parish was accepted at 10s per chain.
