Wellington, Nov. 13, 5.15 p.m. The volunteer regulations under the new Act have been published. Mr G. L. Lee has resigned his seat in the Legislative Council. Tabanaki, Nov. 11, Via Wanganui, Nov. 12. Mr «F. C. Richmond arrived here on Sunday last, and is canvassing the electors of the Grey and Bell, for which district he intends to stand again. Mr Carrington, the Superintendent, will oppose him, and Mr Sewell is talked of. Mr Kelly is in the field for New Plymouth. Messrs Carthew and Brown oppose each other for Eden. The Superintendent declines to take a seat in the Provincial Council, because he considers that such a step would be unconstitutional. There has been a match between eight of the Bine Association and ten of the Armed Constabulary. The latter won by 28 points. Auckland, Nov. 10. Via Wanganui, Nov. 12. Mr Gillies, the Superintendent addressed the electors of City Wesb on Monday evening. The meeting was the largest and most influential ever held in Auckland. At the close, a vote of confidence in Mr Gillies was passed. A meeting was held in the Mechanics' Institute, for the purpose of forming a Protection League. Several resolutions were passed in favour of protection, and a committee was formed to carry out the views of the meeting.

The Coromandel goldfields are turnout wonderfully rich stone. Heller ia performing nightly to crowded houses.
