Nelson, Nov. 13, 5.30 p.m. The Wonga "Wonga arrived at Auckland at 2 p.m. on Friday laßt. She arrived at Honolulu on Oct. 23 at 2.30 p.m. A heavy N.E. gale was met with on Oct. 9, which lasted to the 11th. Left Honolulu on Oct. 25. Had fine weather during the passage. On Sunday last, one of the engine cylinderswas broken, which delayed the steamer 26 hours. Passengers for Auckland from Liverpool, saloon — Mr and Mrs C. Hood, Mr and Mrs W. M. Neilson, Captain Gordon, Messrs W. A. Benn, D. Murphy, C. Melbourn, W. Gindenhire, M. A. Stevenson, mail agent ; steerage, 11. For Sydney and Melbourne, saloon — Mr and Mrs W. J. Magarey, Mrs L. E. Grenman, Mr and Mrs J. B. Howe, Messrs A. T. Magarey, H. J. Earl, J. Young. Second cabin : Mr R. Powell ; steerage, 9. Cargo : 250 kegs sugar, 8 bags pulu. Sydney : 316 barrels salmon, 100 bales pulu, 275 half barrels salmon, 20 bags rice, 40 kegs sugar. The steamer Moses Taylor sailed from San Francisco on Oct. 12, with ' 52 passengers, and 250 mail bags for New Zealand. The North Pacific Transportation Company has amalgamated with Mr Webb, to run his steamers through. This line will get the American subsidy. Important proposals have been sent to the Colonial Government on the matter. . A convention at Chi- . cagb has taken action respecting the Australian through traffic. Eeduced rates have been adopted. Each passenger is allowed 2501bs of luggage free. The journey from New York to Sari Francisco is to be performed in five days, and the Cunard and Inman Steam Companies will have a boat waiting to take the Tramportation Company's passengers at low 1 rates. It is hoped these arrangements will be satisfactory to colonial interests ; if not, connection will cease with, the present line at Honolulu. An important postal treaty between j America and New Zealand has been. ratified. It confers special privileges on New Zealand, and America under* takes no tto transmit the correspondence of other colonies across .the Continent; unless New Zealand consents, and a new postal rate has been fixed.
