LYTTELTON.

ARRIVED. Oct. 27 — Cleopatra, schooner, Ifwersen, from Auckland.

' A ship, supposed to he the Merope, was signalled from the South this morning. The pilot boat came up from the heads, but had not been able to board her. At half -past 1 2 the Cleopatra came up harbour. Captain Ifwerson states that he saw a ship off Pigeon Bay Heads, and that as the breeze sprung up, she squared away and ran lo the northward ; it is therefore very unlikely to have been the Merope.
