Forder's case discloses such curious transactions with the Maritime Company that Mrs Tinsley's agent here has served them with a writ for £10,000 damages. Hugo Levinger has been released on bail, to appear at next session of the Supreme Court for a new trial. General subscriptions are being raised for a joint fund for the sufferers by the war in Europe. By a performance at the Theatre Royal last night, £40 was raised towards the fund. The new tariffs proposed in Tasmauia and South Australia are likely to become law. The barque Fruiterer has been wrecked off New Caledonia ; 24 of the passengers and crew were lost ; one passenger and three sailors were saved. Arrived. — Daphne, and Margaret. The Swordfish has arrived at Hobart Town from Dunedin. Flour has fluctuated during the weelr, reaching £13 10a. The market to-day is firm at £13 to £13 10s. "Wheat is quoted at 5a lOd to 6s. Oats have continued quiet at 3a 5d to 3s Sd. Sugars remain as before, and the new season's teas move off readily at current rates. Tobaccos are speculated in at advanced rates. Brandy and blasting powder maintain an increased price. The "Warrenheip Distillery Company has for years been carried on at a loss, and a meeting has been called to wind up the concern. The Australian Alliance Insurance Company have declared a dividend of 10 per cent., with a bonus equal to another 10. SiD> T EY, Sept. 30.
