MAIL NOTICES.
Mails for the Australian Colonies, Otago, and Southland, will close at 1.30 p.m. on Wednesday, August 31. Supplementary mails for the United Kingdom, Continent of Europe, Asia and Africa, via Suez, Marseilles, and Brindisi, will close at 1.30 p.m. on Wednesday, August 31. Correspondence must be specially addressed. Mails for the United Kingdom, Continent of Europe, Africa, America, and the West Indies, via San Francisco, will close on Friday, f-'ept. 2, at 8.45 a.m. Newspapers at 7.30 a.m. Money orders may be obtained and letters registered till 5 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 1. Mails for the Northern provinces of New Zealand will closo on Friday, Sept. 2, at 9 a.m. | Late letters for all the above places may be posted up to 9.25 a.m. on Sept. 2. Such letters must bear the usual late fee m postage stomps.
