The barque Southern Cross cleared the Customs this day for Newcastle, with a cargo of produce. The ketch Courier cleared the Customs this day for Napier. The barque John Knox, owing to head winds, had not sailed when our express left. The barque Harmon; Captain Hurley, arrived in harbour last night, from Newcastle; she left that port on July 3; made Cape Farewell on July 12; experienced sutherly winds and fine weather during the passage; she brings a cargo of coal, consigned to Mr C. Turner. The barque hauled in to the screw-pile jetty this morning to discharge. jy'HE brigantine Flirt, Captain McKenzie, arrived in harbour this morning, from Auckland- She left Mercury Bay on July 8; had light fair winds to Table Cape, which was passed on Sunday morning, July 10; had to l>ring up in Wanganui roadstead, owing to strong southerly gale; lay there until July 18, it blowing a hard gale all the time, wind irom S. to S W.; left on the night of July 11! j had head winds and heavy sea the first 24 lours, since then light N.E. winds. The Flirt brings a cargo of timber.
