SUBSCRDPTIONS FOR THE BUILDING OF THE | NEW CHURCH OF I ST. MICHAEL AND ALL ANGELS. SUBSCRIPTIONS are earnestly solicited in aid of the above object. The insufficient size, the bad condition oi the fabric, and the unhealthy closeneas of the present church, combine to make this a work |of pressing necessity. It is proposed to build a wooden church on stone foundations, to I hold, when completed, not less than 600 Bittings, of which one-third will be free. It has been resolved not to advertise for tenders until the sum of £1000 shall be in band. The following list represents an amount of £1200 Ib, of which the sum of £718 19s 9d has been received. Parishioners and old attendants at St. Michael's, churchmen generally, and old Canterbury Bettlers in particular, are asked to join in re-building the Parish Church, the temporary Cathedral, the Mother Church of Canterbury. . Subscriptions may be paid to the account of the St. Michael's Church Building Fund, at the Union Bank, to the Undersigned, or to any Member of the Vestry, or Building Committee.
