(Before W. Donald, Esq., R.MO Regiha y. B. Canneix— Sergt. O'Connor said : that he had laid this complaint in Consequence of the neighbours having spoken to him on the matter, they fearing that something serious might happen. He farther stated that on Wednesday night he was called from; the station* and on arriving at the defendant's house, he heard him making use of filthy and threatening language. •He threatened Constable Davidson. Constable -Davidson said tie beard Mrs Cannell scream, and saw her runout of the house ; he went orec and saw the defendant, who threatened him. Mr Yonng said he heard a disturbance on Wednesday night. Mrs Cannell came into his shop and said her husband had put her out ; he went in and tried to pacify * the defendant $ he afterwards informed tha police. By the Bench: Had never seen' defendant beat his wife. The Bench said it was a matter of notoriety the disturbance* that took place in defendant's house. The attention of the Bench had been called to it In this case, defendant would hare to pay all coats, and he must understand that he would not be allowed to. ill-use his wife. If he did, the police would instantly interfere.
