Napier, Feb. 15, 4.30 p.m. News has arrived from Tauranga, via Tapuaeharua. Te Kooti baa been defeated at Ohinemutu, the enemy's loss being 16 killed and 3 prisoners. We had three wounded. Kooti has reached Ohiwa. The steamer Tauranga took Kemp, Topia, and 250 Wanganuis to Ohiwa, where they landed, and are following Kooti into the TJriwera country. Colonel M'Donnell goes by another route into TTriwera. Eopata, with the Ngatiporous under Mr Locke's direction, proceeds from Poverty Bay into Uriwera, and Mr Hamlin leaves this evening to take a force to Waikare Moana. All the forces are converging towards the same point, and with the same object. Wellington, Feb. 15, 6.55 p.m. At the adjourned meeting of the New Zealand Steam Navigation Company to-day, various efforts to effect a compromise failed. Mr Taylor lodged a written protest against the legality of the meeting. Messrs Byrne, Allen, and Anderson were then elected liquidators, no one else being proposed. A bush fire at Carterton, Wairarapa, extended to the township, destroying a bridge on the road, five houses, and Anderson's saw mills. Nothing is insured.
