for Lyttelton at 3 p.m. oh Feb. 4, ahd arrived at 12.45 p.m. to-day. The Gothenburg sails this evening for Melbourne, via Dunedin and Bluff. The Circular Saw Steam Novigation Company's s.s. Phcebe, Captain Worsp, arrived in harbour at 1 1 .20 this morning, from Auckland, via Napier and Wellington. "She left Auckland on the afternoon of Jan. 29 ; arrived off Napier on Jan. 31, at daylight ; left same day, arriving in Wellington at noon on Feb. 1 ; sailed on Feb. 4, at 3 p.m., for Lyttelton, and arrived as above. Experienced fine weather from Wellington to the Kaikouras ; thence strong head winds and sea ; passed the s.s. Airedale at midnight, bound for the North. We are iudebted to Mr Wheeler, the purser, for files. The Phoebe sailed this afternoon for Otago. The fine s?ip Charlotte Gladstone, Capt. White, arrived in harbour yesterday afternoon, and came to an anchor off Gollan Bay. The Charlotte Gladstone comes here from Melbourne, where she arrived on Dec. 24, with 455 Government emigrants. Captain White reports leaving Melbourne on Jan. -3 ; passed through Banks Straits on the 25th, came through (""ook Straits on Feb. 1, encountered S.E. gale and anchored as above. Captain White will t>e heartily welcomed back to Canterbury by many old friends, who will be glad to see that he commands so fine a vessel. We are indebted to Captain White for files of Melbourne papers up to the date of his leaving that port. Ihe principal offices and stores in Lyttelton, also the shipping in harbour, were gaily decorated with bnnting this morning, as a mark of welcome to Captain White.
