Napier, Jan. Sly &5 p.m. A deputation waited on the Hon. Mr M'llean to request him to open up Ohinemuri as agoldfield. Mr M'Lean replied that the Government had offered Te Hira certain terms,, which he expected would be accepted ; on a reply being received^, the Government will act. .
yA Mr Firth waa arrested at Hamilton as a deserter, but was subsequently released by an. order from Colonel Moule.
Forty KLingnatives, under Marino, left Tokangamuttton JJan. 24, and have joined our forces against Te ; Kooti. A spy of Te Kooti's was taken prisoner near Tapapa camp. Col. Eraser has not ye* joined Col. M'JXmnell.
The schooner Banshee, from Dunedin, arrived at Auckland on Jan. 22.
The s.s. Auckland from Sydney arrived on Jan. 23, and sailed again for Sydney on Jan. 28.
