The s.s. Maori, Captain Malcolm, sailed for Dunedin, via intermediate ports, at 2.15 p.m., yesterday. * The schooner Canterbury, Capt. Ruxton, arrived in harbour yesterday, at 2 a.m., from Havelock. She left Pelorus Sound on Noy. 24, at 1 1 a.m., with a fine breeze from jfche northward; at 7 a.m., was off Flaxburne; 'fljpoke the brig Fawn— l 4 days out; on Nov. if t was off Kaikouras Peninsula ; and arrived £9 above. She brings a cargo of timber conto Messrs England, Bros. - V" " The Fawn, brig, Capt. J. Wood, arrived Vj.ii harbour at 2.30 p.m. yesterday, from New- . : castle, from which port she sailed on Nov. ."" 20, in company with the schooner Amateur ; for three days she experienced light winds from the eastward, which were succeeded by a strong westerly breeze, until making Cape Farewell on the 30th Nov. ; on that day passed the brig Princess Alice, which left here on the 29fch Nov. for Newcastle. A heavy gale now set in, which lasted for three days; afterwards, had light variable winds uutil arrival as above. The Fawn brings a cargo of coals, consigned to Capt. Woods. ■ Tii c schooner W ild Wave, Captain O'Brien, , arrived in harbour yesterday from Picton. She lefc Greymouth on Nov. 9, and .arrived •at Havelock on Nov. 17 ; loaded at Mahaka- , -pawn,, and left again on Nov. 29 ; got through .the straits on Nov. 30 ; experienced a heavy southerly gale, and ran into Wellington for • shelter ; lay there until Saturday morning ; aiuce then experienced light northerly winds, arriving as above. She brings a cargo of timber, consigned to Messrs Pavitfc and Co.
