(Before W. Donald, Esq., R.M.) Drunk and Indecent Exposure. — Geo. Williams was charged with this r.ffence. Discharged, on condition that he left the town at once. Breach of Harbour and Quarantine Regulations. — George Pluramer, George j A gar, Thomas Watson, and William Burns, were charged with boarding the s.B. Gothenburg before she had anchored, or had been cleared by the Customs authorities. Defendants pleaded that it had been a regular custom for many years to board the vessels, and that they were not aware it was infringing the law. The Bench said that the law was now, that all vessels must be boarded firßt by the Health Officer. As the defendants were ignorant of the law, the case would be dismissed. The defendants complained that, owing to the want of a proper place to make their boats fast to, they were by the regulations liable to be summoned at any time. Breach of the Public House Ordinance, — Peter Walsh and John M'Dougall were charged with fighting in the Queen's Hotel on Thursday last. Mr Littlecottsaid that M'Dougall came into his house drunk, and commenced the row. Walsh, in defence, said he was struck first by M'Dougall, and only acted in self defence. He called two

witnesses, who proved this statement. M'Dougall was fined 20s and costs. The charge against Walsh was dismissed. Fighting in the Public Street.— P. Walsh, J. M'Dougall, and T. Ockford, were charged with this offence. Mr C. Littlecott, Manager of the Queen's Hotel, said M'Dougall and Walsh were in the house on Friday night. A row commenced, and he cleared the houae. In defence, Walsh said he was struck first, and tried to prevent a quarrel. Ockford said M'Dcugall h:vd knocked him down. M'Dougall said he did not racollect anything about it. M Dougall was fined 20s i and costs, Walsh IDs, and Ockfori 10s.
